Marietta Police release name of man who died in Muskingum River
MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Marietta Police have released the name of the man whose body was found on the banks of the Muskingum River on Tuesday. Marietta Police Captain Ryan Huffman said police and the Montgomery County Coroner identified the man as Jeffrey Keith of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Authorities identified the body on Wednesday and waited to reveal the name publicly in order to inform the family.
Four people charged after shooting reported in Parkersburg, police say
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WCHS) — Four people were charged after a shooting was reported in Parkersburg on Saturday, police said. The arrests stem from an incident about 8 a.m. in the 1600 block of Tygart Street where Robert Aguilar, 27, was found with a gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Parkersburg Police Department.

The Wood County Board of Education recently purchased 31.23 acres of land in Washington, W.Va. This property was purchased to build the new Lubeck Elementary School. This purchase was an extremely irresponsible financial decision by the Wood County Board of Education. The price for this piece of property was $755,000. You would think with such a large purchase and price tag, the Wood County Board of Education would have at the very least had an appraisal done to make sure they are paying a fair price for the property.
