5 Best Restaurants in Toledo, Ohio You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Toledo, Ohio — a city where the Maumee River glides beneath bridges old and new, where glass and steel rise beside brick warehouses, and the laughter of families, artists, and dreamers mingles on tree-lined avenues. Here, the skyline is a patchwork: art deco towers, murals blooming on downtown walls, and the steady hum of industry softened by the warmth of neighborhood diners. Toledo is a crossroads — of Midwestern grit and quiet hope, of auto workers and musicians, of immigrants whose recipes and stories have become the city’s own.

New authority takes shape for Timbers Town Center redevelopment
A new community authority overseeing the $89 million redevelopment of the former Shops at Fallen Timbers in Maumee has approved an agreement outlining responsibility for maintaining streets and sidewalks at the shopping center. The Timbers Town Center Community Authority’s seven-member board of trustees approved the infrastructure maintenance agreement at its organizational meeting Thursday, along with bylaws and other measures establishing how the authority will operate. Under the agreement, the city would take over the development’s streets and sidewalks, while the developer would remain responsible for their upkeep. The authority could help cover some of those maintenance costs. The agreement comes as Timbers Town Center Ltd., a consortium of developers with ties to Columbus’ Easton Town Center, prepares to revitalize the struggling shopping center. The group purchased the property in July for $17.3 million and plans to invest approximately $89 million, including the acquisition cost, in the redevelopment. Plans include repairing deteriorating streets and sidewalks, attracting new retail and restaurant tenants, and potentially adding about 230 apartments. Much of the redevelopment work is expected to take place in 2027. Greg Daniels, an attorney for the development consortium, said the new authority will oversee financing matters and determine how its funds are

Adrian approves homelessness pilot program 'Find a Way Home'
The Adrian City Commission approved a pilot program to help individuals affected by homelessness reconnect with family, rehabilitation programs or other support outside the city Nov. 2. "Find a Way Home" was approved as a short-term goal after making homelessness one of four immediate city priorities Oct. 19. Officials previously discussed modeling the effort after Kalamazoo’s “Finding Your Way Home,” which helps individuals affected by homelessness reconnect with family and other support systems. As of August 2025, that program had reunited nearly 70 people with their families since 2023, according to reporting by WWMT. Mayor Angela Heath said the goal of the new pilot is to help those who want to improve their circumstances by providing a safe destination. “To get them to that family, to get them to that rehab or whatever it might be,” Heath said. Commissioner Charles Moore questioned whether the program would serve solely city residents or others who've traveled from elsewhere and are staying at Share the Warmth. Heath said it could serve either, including local residents with family outside the area. Moore also questioned whether vacated shelter beds would simply be filled by other people. More: Adrian pilot program would connect homeless to previous
