The bigger victory went to the softball team which played Madison in a second-round game. The Gaels crushed the Dodgers 8-1 for their fourth win of the season. Olivia Cilli went 2-for-4 with four RBI’s and a home run, helping supply offense for Pope John in a 13-5 victory over Mount Olive in Flanders. The victory was the second in the last three starts for the Lions, who got back over .500 at 8-7 on the year. Four runs in the third and five in the fourth erased an early 3-0 deficit for Pope John. MONTVILLE, NJ - The Montville Baseball and Softball Association held its opening day parade and ceremony on Saturday, April 20. Baseball and softball players of all ages, along with their coaches, walked from Lazar Middle School to the Municipal Fields.
