It's Friday and time to talk food. I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend. I had a blast judging the Akron Art Museum's Circa Thriller Halloween costume contest for the second year. Check out a special treat that I enjoyed eating at the party in the Best Bites section below. I have some enticing restaurant news to share. â—Ź First, breakfast is back at Bob's Hamburg ! The venerable greasy spoon, which hadn't had breakfast hours for two years, is back at it, with breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. That includes sweet and salty hamcakes, which are ham-infused pancakes, served with two eggs and potatoes. Also for breakfast are house-made beef sausages patties, hamburger gravy and biscuits and deep-fried French toast seasoned with cinnamon sugar and topped with sweetened, condensed milk and syrup. Akron Fire Guts Caterer's Home, Community Rallies Around Danielle Williams

Artist uses a 104-foot canvas to celebrate Wooster’s heritage and identity

WOOSTER - Last summer, Main Street Wooster put out a request for proposals for an artist to paint a downtown mural. Wooster native Isabel Bongue answered the call. Bongue, 36, was born and raised in Wooster before moving to Columbus. She's been painting murals for 10 years. She's a graphic designer as well as a tattoo artist. Painting set backdrops first piqued Bongue's interset in painting on a larger scale. Bongue took a shot at the request for proposals since it was in her hometown. "I regularly look for calls for artists," said Bongue. "I probably spend three to five days out of every month trying to." Bongue started the mural on Sept. 14 and planned to have it finished by October. However, unexpected circumstances pushed the completion date to the end of October. The mural beautifies the 104-foot side of a building. The creative process Two ways entities advertise for mural artists are through requests for qualifications and requests for proposals. Requests for qualifications require artists to submit their resume and portfolio, move onto the final step in the interview process, and then, if selected, create a proposal image. ASHLAND - Two years ago Peyton Zollinger and his Norwayne teammates got a taste of regional tournament action losing in a shootout to Beachwood in the semifinals. The Bobcats found themselves back in a regional semifinal Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Ashland Community Stadium, against Mansfield Christian and made program history in a 5-1 win advancing to their first regional championship. "We have worked for this for four years," Zollinger said. "I dressed as a sophomore when we lost in regional semifinals ... this year we're graduating a lot of seniors, so it was the year."
