Washington D.C. Braces for Showers and Thunderstorms, Relief in Sight for Weekend
Washington, D.C. residents can expect a wet and stormy end to the week. In a recent forecast update, meteorologists have announced an 80% chance of showers today, possibly escalating to thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Temperates are set to hover near 63 degrees, a slight relief, but accompanied by a consistent east wind moving at 5 to 7 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

BALTIMORE- Clouds persist this afternoon with light rain still lingering in the region. Rain is breaking apart a little ahead of schedule, so expect periods of dry a little closer to the noon hour today. We are already close to our daytime high settled into the lower to middle 60s.Highs reach the lower to middle 60s this afternoon under cloudy and rainy skies. A spotty chance at a thunderstorms remains in our forecast, but this is mainly to the west of I-81. Rain tapers into the evening giving us a chance of dry.Lows tonight drop into the 50s.Sunday, we will see a repeat in the forecast for the first half of the day, but things will begin to dry out by evening.Monday brings dry conditions back into our forecast with sunshine and the 80s expected Tuesday.
44-year-old Palmyra sentenced to serve 45 months in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 riot
A 44-year-old Palmyra man will serve more than three years and seven months in federal prison for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Leo Brent Bozell IV, 44, was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge John D. Bates to 45 months in prison, three months of supervised release, and ordered to pay $4,729 in restitution. Bates found Bozell guilty of 10 charges, including four felonies, on Sept. 8, 2023.
