Motorcyclist killed in crash in Santa Margarita
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a Ford truck on Saturday afternoon in Santa Margarita, according to the CHP. Shortly before 2 p.m., 52-year-old Peggy Masuda of Oxnard was traveling southbound on Highway 58 when she crossed over the double yellow line north of Pozo Road into the path of a truck driven by 74-year-old Danny Oster. Oster suffered minor injuries in the crash.

San Luis Obispo changes pot shop rules
In an apparent attempt to curtail marijuana mogul Helios Dayspring’s involved in the cannabis industry, San Luis Obispo recently tweaked it rules for pot shop applicants. During the city’s previous pot shop application process, applicants were required to pass criminal background checks. The city then approved three pot shops, all of which were owned or partially funded by Dayspring.

Police capture wanted criminal in San Luis Obispo
Transient from San Luis Obispo has been wanted for several months. – On Wednesday, the San Luis Obispo Police Department worked with other law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest Jordan Smith, a 26-year-old who has been wanted for several months for a parole violation, warrants, and for multiple crimes allegedly committed in the City of San Luis Obispo.

The City of San Luis Obispo in California is required by the Brown Act to notify the community of certain types of public proceedings. The city goes beyond what is required by law to provide community members with information regarding pending official actions or hearings. Administrative actions include applications to make minor changes to properties. These applications include building a new single-family dwelling on a sensitive site, constructing a residential duplex project consisting of two 2-bedroom units and a rooftop deck, reviewing a homestay rental application to allow short-term rental of an owner-occupied residential unit, and requesting tandem parking approval and a reduction in the front setback to accommodate on-site parking spaces for single-family residences.
