Two historic college basketball programs are set to meet in a massive out-of-conference matchup next season.

Jon Rothstein reported on Thursday that Duke and Kansas are finalizing an agreement for a neutral-site matchup. The game is rumored to be scheduled in November in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Duke has already scheduled games with Kentucky and Arizona as part of its non-conference schedule for the 2024-2025 season.

The Blue Devils and Jayhawks last played each other during the 2022-2023 season in the State Farm Champions Classic in Jon Scheyer's first year at the helm. Kansas won that matchup 69-64 as the Jayhawks won the Big 12 regular season championship that season.

Duke reached the Elite 8 in March Madness before losing to the same team that knocked them out of the ACC Tournament in NC State. The Wolfpack finished one win shy of competing for a national championship.

It was a disappointing end to March Madness for Kansas. The Jayhawks only reached the second round of the tournament after losing to Gonzaga 89-68.

The Jayhawks have had a successful offseason as Wisconsin transfer AJ Storr committed to Kansas on Thursday. Storr was a key piece of the Badgers' offense, scoring 16.8 points per game last season.
