Shedeur Sanders' recent comments on social media have sparked controversy and backlash, particularly concerning his attitude towards former Colorado player Xavier Smith.

Smith spoke out about his experience playing under Coach Prime, expressing feelings of being ignored and having his confidence undermined.

Shedeur's response, referring to Smith as "mid," further exacerbated tensions and drew criticism from Smith's current coach, UTEP's Scotty Walden, who defended his player's character and accomplishments.

Walden emphasized Smith's leadership and success on the field, asserting his value to the team and dismissing Shedeur's dismissive remarks.

"I coached Xavier at AP and now here at UTEP. He is the furthest thing from soft. He is a great kid/player and led us to a conference title. He answered a question honestly in an interview and was just telling his side. He was a freshman AA and has an extremely bright future on and off the field. I am glad he is on my team- check the tape," Walden said .

Shedeur, Deion and the Buffaloes will be the villains of the college football world next season.
