Man convicted of murder says DNA evidence was flawed; analyst under investigation
BOULDER, Colo. — A man in prison on a life sentence said he was convicted of a murder he didn't commit. Michael Clark and his attorney believe the DNA analysis used against him in a 2012 trial in Boulder is flawed. They had questions about the evidence years ago, and now the DNA analyst in Clark's case is under criminal investigation for manipulating and deleting data in hundreds of other cases.
Graffiti hits Boulder open space, USMC Memorial
There were two separate acts of graffiti vandalism this week, one on a Jefferson County military memorial and the other on a popular Boulder hiking trail. The United States Marine Corps Memorial Golden at 16899 W. Colfax Ave. was hit with a graffiti message overnight Thursday just a month before its 47th Annual Celebration. Scrawled in red were the words "Free Gaza" and "Free Hamas." That came on the heels of a pro-Palestinian rally and march through downtown Denver Wednesday coinciding with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu address to members of congress in Washington, D.C.
Green Mountain trail vandalized, park rangers work to remove graffiti
BOULDER, Colo. — Boulder park rangers are searching for the individuals responsible for defacing the summit of a trail on Green Mountain with graffiti. A local hiker discovered the extensive vandalism and posted pictures on Facebook, where he and others expressed outrage over the desecration of one of Colorado's cherished natural landscapes.

Dogs rescued Tuesday in Broomfield kitchen fire
North Metro firefighters rescued two dogs from a kitchen fire Tuesday morning in Broomfield after receiving an initial call regarding a fire alarm. According to a North Metro Fire post on X, at 10:30 a.m. firefighters responded to the alarm and the call was upgraded to a structure fire while they were en route. Upon arrival, they found a small kitchen fire which had been contained by the sprinklers in the home.
