Blue Blood Programs' Beef Compared To Famous Celebrity Beef

The Oklahoma Sooners and the USC Trojans are two of the premier college football teams in the country. But for nearly three years, there has been plenty of tension between the two fan bases.

On3's J.D. PicKell compared the perceived rivalry to a notable hip-hop beef. That beef would be between artists Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which has dominated headlines over the past month.

"Oklahoma and USC, this is a beef that has stood the test of time for the better part of the past seven years," PicKell said. "It's not so much between the teams as much. It's not so much between head coaches. It is fan-based driven in my mind.

"Because Lincoln Riley goes on record after they lose to Oklahoma State when he was the head coach at Oklahoma, and he's asked point blank, 'Are you going to be the head coach at LSU?' He goes, 'No, I will not be the next head coach at LSU.' Which of course allowed everybody and their momma to believe, 'Alright so Lincoln Riley is staying at Oklahoma.' Not more than 48 hours later, I think it was 24 hours later actually, it gets announced that Lincoln Riley is leaving for USC."

At this point, the beef has been going on for too long. Neither school has done anything relevant, even in their conferences, let alone nationally, since Riley's departure for Los Angeles happened. Both schools seem very happy with who they have as head coach.

So, it's time to put the beef aside. You don't have to like each other, but until either does anything of note nationally, it's time to focus on other things.
