School tax votes split: Cuts loom for two districts
Maumee and Springfield schools are bracing for major budget cuts after voters rejected proposed income taxes Tuesday, while voters in Toledo and Sylvania approved additional funding for their school districts. In October, Springfield Superintendent Matt Geha told members of the board of education the district would have to cut $500,000 from the budget even if the income tax measure passed.
