66-year-old Bluffton man sentenced to 16 years for raping a child
BLUFFTON, OH (WLIO) - A Bluffton man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for having sexual contact with a young child. 66-year-old Jeffrey Ludwig pleaded guilty to rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition. The rest of the charges he was facing were dropped. According to the indictment, the charges stem from incidents that happened between August 2010 and November 2015 when the victim was between 4 and 9 years old. Ludwig was also classified as a tier three sex offender and will have to register where he lives for the rest of his life.
Powerball Jackpot reaches $1.2 billion
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Powerball jackpot on Wednesday has become the third largest in the game's history. No ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Monday night, which has caused the jackpot to increase to $1.2 billion. In case of a potential winner in the next draw, they will have two payout options: 30 annual installments or a lump sum of $551.7 million. However, if the lump sum amount is chosen, the payout will reduce to $402.5 million after applying federal and Ohio state tax withholdings. If the installment option is picked, the winner could take home approximately $40 million annually. On Saturday Division IV Continental High traveled to Lima to take on Division I Lima Senior in Volleyball action. The Pirates made quick work of the Spartans in game 1, 25-12. Tables were turned in game 2 as the Spartans won 25-19. Game 3 was again all Pirates as they took a 2-1 advantage with a 25-13 win. A hard fought game 4 went to the Pirates 25-21. Pirates 3-1 winner.
