Georgia-Pacific closing Milan corrugated plant, laying off 119 employees
MILAN, MI -- Leading corrugated box manufacturer, Georgia-Pacific is set to permanently close its Milan plant and lay off all employees at the location by July. Georgia-Pacific notified the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity on May 6 that it will close the plant at 951 County St. by July 6, which will impact 119 jobs.

Ypsilanti-area man dies in motorcycle crash near Ann Arbor
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- An Ypsilanti Township man died in a motorcycle crash Monday in Ann Arbor Township, police said. Ypsilanti puts hard cap on marijuana retailers allowed in the city
YPSILANTI, MI -- Ypsilanti leaders cemented a cap on the number of marijuana retailers allowed in the city to more than 14. The new ordinance, passed 6-1 by the Ypsilanti City Council Tuesday, May 14, comes after a series of temporary or similar measures trying to stop new marijuana dispensaries from setting up shop in the city. 26-year-old man injured in Ypsilanti shooting
