South Carolina to begin title defense in Las Vegas vs. Michigan
South Carolina will begin its quest for back-to-back national titles in Las Vegas, as the Gamecocks are set to play Michigan at T-Mobile Arena on Nov. 4 to open the 2024-25 campaign. The game will be part of the Hall of Fame Series, which also features a matchup between Texas and Ohio State's men's basketball teams. South Carolina coach Dawn Staley noted that it was hard to put a schedule together due to the fact that few teams want to go up against the Gamecocks, who are coming off a perfect 38-0 season. Meanwhile, Michigan went 20-14 last season. The Wolverines fell to Kansas in overtime in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina has not played Michigan since 1995.
