WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- An Ypsilanti Township man died in a motorcycle crash Monday in Ann Arbor Township, police said. A motorcycle heading west on Huron River Driver collided with a vehicle going south on Foster Road in the intersection around 5 p.m. May 13, Derrick Jackson, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said.

26-year-old man injured in Ypsilanti shooting
YPSILANTI, MI -- A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg early Monday in Ypsilanti, police said. An Eastern Michigan University Police Department officer responded to the report of shots fired shortly before 1 a.m. May 13, in the 400 block of N. Adams Street in Ypsilanti, Derrick Jackson, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said.
Person shot with BB gun near University of Michigan campus
ANN ARBOR, MI -- Police are investigating after someone was found shooting airsoft pellets near the University of Michigan campus. A person was walking about 10:15 p.m. Friday, May 10, near the 1000 block of South University Avenue in Ann Arbor, when he saw a group of “juvenile-aged individuals” nearby. One of them was carrying an airsoft BB gun, according to a release from the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety and Security.
Man arrested, charged after 17-hour standoff in Canton Township
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 39-year-old man has been charged with two felonies following a 17-hour standoff in Canton Township overnight May 8-9. According to authorities, police were dispatched to a home on Annapolis Circle on reports of domestic violence. Police said they confirmed an assault occurred and secured the area after a man from inside the home fired a weapon.
Driver gets 1 year for crash that killed man in Canton Township
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A driver will spend time behind bars for a crash that killed a man in Canton Township. Lavina Flamer, 49, of Wayne, was accused of striking a 56-year-old Canton Township man around 8:45 p.m. Oct. 3, 2022, in the eastbound lanes of Michigan Avenue, near I-275.
Pedestrian dies after struck along Will Carleton Road
ASH TWP. — A Canton man died early Thursday after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along Will Carleton Road. Troopers from the Monroe Post of the Michigan State Police were dispatched at about 4:30 a.m. to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Will Carleton Road near Port Creek Road, a news release from the post said. From evidence at the scene, troopers determined a black Lincoln passenger car driven by a 38-year-old man from Willis was traveling eastbound on Will Carleton Road and struck a 27-year-old man from Canton, who walking in the roadway.
Anglers rescue boaters from sinking vessel in Lake Erie, Monroe County Sheriff's Office says
MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — Three boaters were rescued from Lake Erie in Monroe County Sunday afternoon when their vessel overturned. According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call around 3:30 p.m., stating a vessel had overturned offshore from Sterling State Park and that three people were in the water. The sheriff's office marine unit responded to the scene, alongside the Frenchtown Township Fire Department and South Shore Marine Towing.

Police officials said on social media that caller ID shows the calling number as being from Ann Arbor Police Department and say the number was spoofed.
