The quest for cheap housing: candidates offer visions of an affordable Bloomington
Every candidate for mayor lists affordable housing as a priority, and yet both candidates and residents are sharply divided on how to achieve affordability. As Bloomington grows, housing costs are driven up by high demand, naturally forcing a question of either expanding supply or letting people get priced out of town.
Bloomington set to pay $1.9 million for NE part of parking lot, planned for convention center expansion
In 2019, Bloomington’s redevelopment commission (RDC) paid $4,995,000 for most of the downtown block that formerly housed the Bunger & Robertson law firm. It was a move that put a significant sum behind the city’s preferred site for the planned expansion of the Monroe Convention Center. But it came with at least some amount of controversy for what was supposed to be a city-county collaboration.
It’s fair to call this IU basketball season a success, and the future uncertain
No, Indiana didn’t win a national title in 2023. And if that’s your only way to measure success for IU basketball, well then, you just experienced failure for the 36th straight season. Of course that’s an absurd standard. But the expectations were indeed high for this edition...

TJD on Race Thompson: “He's gone through a lot of the stuff behind the scenes that people don't know about.”
ALBANY, NY — Race Thompson doesn’t want to tell you. It’s just not his style. All the injuries and issues he’s battled through this year, he’s kept silent about them as he’s been going through his final year with Indiana. And he’d rather keep it that way.

A 16-2 Hurricanes scoring run midway through the second half was ultimately too much for the Hoosiers to overcome.
