U.S. Marshals, Columbus SWAT arrest murder suspect
COLUMBUS – U.S. Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), along with the Columbus Police SWAT team and K-9 Unit arrested a Columbus man accused of killing a Circleville man. Police said Malike D. Miller, 22, is charged with first-degree murder for shooting Jared Porter, 23, on March 3 at a Sheetz store on the 3000 block of South Hamilton Road in Columbus. Porter was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Despite receiving life-saving medical care, police said, Porter succumbed to his injuries. SOFAST apprehended Miller on Friday in the 1700 block of Shanley Drive, Columbus and he was taken to the Franklin County Jail. Columbus SOFAST is a fugitive-focused, U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state and federal authorities.
