ATHENS – Troopers with the Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. 33 near Milepost 7 in Hocking County, Ohio. On September 20, 2023 at approximately 5:02 P.M, the Athens Highway Patrol Post was notified of the crash. Troopers respondedand arrived on scene at approximately 5:13 P.M.

US Marshals, Columbus SWAT arrest twin brothers for July murder in Italian Village
Twin brothers who have been wanted since July for a Columbus murder have been apprehended. Levander Davis, 25, of the North Side, and De'Andre Davis, 25, of Italian Village, were arrested Thursday by members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Columbus Division of Police SWAT. They are being held in the Franklin County jail.

Mid-Ohio Market at Gantz Road to open this fall
The Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s community pantry in Grove City is the busiest in central Ohio. People in need of food used to come into the pantry, located at 3960 Brookham Drive, to pick up needed goods. When the novel coronavirus hit in 2020, the food pantry could no longer allow people inside, but offered a drive-thru service. More than three years later, the drive-thru is still going strong.

The death of a Mansfield Correctional Institution inmate James Johnson, 51, of Columbus, who was found dead in his cell June 2, was caused by "blunt force injuries of the head," according to Dr. Mary Goolsby, forensic pathologist and deputy coroner at the Montgomery County Medical Examiner's Office who performed the autopsy.
