Robert Griffin III Continues To Compare Your Favorite Dragon Ball Z Characters To NFL Draft Prospects

Robert Griffin III is taking a more creative approach when comparing the future NFL stars in this year's NFL Draft to their future professional counterparts. To honor the late creator of the beloved Japanese cartoon Dragon Ball Z, Akira Toriyama, Griffin decided to turn back the clock and draw comparisons between some of the more notable DBZ characters and the bigger names in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Hopefully, downtown Detroit doesn’t serve as the backdrop for an epic season-ending battle like it probably would in the DBZ universe, otherwise, we’re going to need a lot of senzu beans . Monday, Griffin gave his comparisons for quarterbacks J.J. McCarthy, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix Jr. He continued his series on Tuesday comparing the two quarterbacks with the best odds to go No. 2 overall, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye.
“Drake Maye is Super Saiyan Majin Vegeta. They play possessed and balance their enhanced abilities with their dark nature of taking risks. They just need a Coach Babidi who sees greater in them and can help unlock their true power,” Griffin posted on X. Tuesday.
Griffin emphasized the importance of Maye going to a franchise that can maximize his potential. You couldn’t find a more polar dichotomy between the Washington Commanders and the New England Patriots, his two most likely landing spots.
He shared a different view when it came to the other most likely candidate to go No. 2 or 3 overall Jayden Daniels.
“Project, Jayden Daniels is Super Saiyan Future Trunks. They know what it takes to survive and thrive in the different worlds of the PAC 12 and SEC or future and past. They are precise and 1 step ahead, so play with them and you will catch a fade,” he wrote.
Wednesday morning he delivered a comparison to a player many haven’t considered since his season-ending injury that ultimately sealed Florida State’s fate when it came to the College Football Playoff, Jordan Travis.
“Jordan Travis is Broly from Super. Since Travis’s injury, he has largely not been talked about in this draft. Tossed away to be forgetten like King Vegeta did to Broly. Quiet and reserved waiting for their undeniable talent to be found,” he wrote.
This continues to be one of the more fun ways I’ve seen analysts compare future NFL stars with their current counterparts. I will continue to monitor Griffin’s X account as he releases more comparisons for his NFL Draft X Dragon Ball Z series.
