WNBA viewership has skyrockted in the past year. With the arrival of rookie stars like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, the attention the league has gotten has been increidble. Stars like that have truly lifted up women's basketball.

There was a massive debate on social media when fans couldn't watch Reese and Cardoso's debut. It wasn't aired on national television, forcing fans to have to live-stream the Sky's matchup against the Minnesota Lynx.

Fans across social media had a frenzy, complaining about the inability to tune in. They mentioned Caitlin Clark's debut was on national televison, but Reese and company didn't have the same pull.

It's been reported through many outlets that fans were irritated by the network availability, but the live-stream numbers that the Sky and Lynx produced should have the real spotlight.

The New York Post reports that there was over 562,000 viewers on live stream, tuning into the matchup. These numbers were rare for the WNBA years ago, but it's become the norm. The video of the in-game live stream has racked up to 2.4 million viewers since Friday.
