WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- An Ypsilanti Township man died in a motorcycle crash Monday in Ann Arbor Township, police said. YPSILANTI, MI -- Ypsilanti leaders cemented a cap on the number of marijuana retailers allowed in the city to more than 14. The new ordinance, passed 6-1 by the Ypsilanti City Council Tuesday, May 14, comes after a series of temporary or similar measures trying to stop new marijuana dispensaries from setting up shop in the city. DETROIT – Looking for a new furry friend? You have two options: adopting or buying. Adopting involves bringing a dog home from a shelter or rescue, whereas buying a dog involves buying from a breeder, pet shop or puppy mill. The main differences between the two are the origin of the animal and costs. Buying a dog, especially a purebred, can be expensive, costing families up to $10,000 -- or more. With adoption, fees tend to stay under $350. Adopting a dog can also mean saving a life. When a family chooses to adopt a dog, it gives that dog a second chance at life. It also makes more space in the shelter for another dog to be able to stay longer.
