Chargers Softball Falls to Allentown
SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity softball team took on Allentown High School on Thursday in an out of conference game. Spotswood fell to Allentown 4-1. Gabrielle Hill and Hannah Graulich had the lone hits for the Chargers in the game. Graulich's single drove in Hill, who scored Spotswood's only run of the game. Ava Mormile took the loss on the mound for Spotswood. Mormile went the distance, pitching seven innings and giving up four runs on eight hits. The junior struck out nine. Spotswood High School Class of 2025 Hosting Color Run
SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Spotswood High School's Class of 2025 is hosting a Color Run on Saturday, May 18. Participants should wear white for the one-mile color run. The cost of the race is $20 for pre-registered runners. Runners can also sign up on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. in SHS's junior parking lot behind the high school. In-person registration on Saturday is $25. Proceeds from the Color Run go to support the Chargers Class of 2025. A portion also goes to support the E4M Scholarship fund which was set up to honor the memory of Matthew Carlson. The starting line for the May 18 Color Run is Spotswood High School's junior varsity soccer field. Pre-registration can be done by using the QR code pictured above. Ole Miss faces elimination today at the Lafayette Regional. The Rebels (31-26) will play Princeton (29-17) in an elimination game at 4:30 p.m. CT. The game can be streamed on ESPN+. SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Greater Middlesex Conference golf honors were handed out this week. Three members of the Chargers' back-to-back Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division champion golf team were named to the GMC All-Blue Division team for their performances this season. Spotswood High School golf coach Samantha Vizzi was tapped as the Blue Division's 2024 Coach of the Year. Seniors Andrew Pearce and Michael Furey were named to the All-Blue Division team along with junior Mia Masarik. The Chargers have an overall record of 14-2. Matthew Kukoda is Manasquan High School’s next principal, replacing soon-to-be superintendent
MANASQUAN — The Manasquan Public School District Board of Education announced during its May 14 meeting that current Holmdel High School Principal Matthew Kukoda will join Manasquan High School (MHS) as its new principal next year. Kukoda will be replacing Robert Goodall, who the board previously announced will replace current Superintendent Frank Kasyan upon his retirement at the end of June.

Chargers Golfers Move on in Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Spotswood High School golf team kept rolling on Monday. Spotswood kicked off the week with a first round victory in the Greater Middlesex Conference Golf Tournament over Woodbridge High School. The Chargers edged the Barrons 163-180 to move on in the country tournament. A first and second place finish by the Chargers' Andrew Pearce and Michael Furey as well as a fourth place tie for Mia Masarik and Dominic Spicuzzo helped seal the win. Spotswood's victory improved the Chargers' overall season record to 14-2. The Charges clinched back-to-back Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division titles earlier this month.
