Grand Jury Indicts Two Men for Local Man's Murder
SOMERVILLE, NJ - A Somerset County Grand Jury has indicted Daniel Matthews, 44, of Brooklyn, and Andrew Mumby, 47, of New Brunswick for the December 29, 2023, murder of Franklin resident Artis Young, 46, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald. Matthews and Mumby were indicted on charges of 1st degree murder, 1st degree felony murder, 2nd degree conspiracy to disturb human remains, 2nd degree disturbing human remains and two counts of 3rd degree hindering apprehension. Rutgers Police Investigating After Firework is Reportedly Thrown at People in Parking Deck
NEW BRUNSWICK – Rutgers police are investigating after receiving a report that a firework was thrown at people at the top of the College Avenue Parking Deck on Thursday night. The vehicle left the area. Police said the victims are affiliated with Rutgers. Rutgers police use the term "affiliated" to describe students, or staff or faculty members.
