Ocean County Woman Admits To Robbery And More
TOMS RIVER – A Township woman has admitted to robbing a woman, spitting on police officers and more, over several dates in 2023, officials said. Olivia Paige, 35, of Toms River, pled guilty to Robbery in connection with an incident that occurred on August 29, 2023, in Lakewood. Additionally, Paige pled guilty to Possession of Cocaine from an incident on January 11, 2023, in Brick. Finally, Paige pled guilty to Aggravated Assault from an incident that occurred on April 14, 2023, likewise in Lakewood.

Sea Watch building construction making progress
MANASQUAN — Years in the making, the expansion project of the Sea Watch beachfront building is now slated for total completion by early July. Site utility work was completed earlier this year, and work on the building itself began in March, confirmed borough engineer Joe Raftery, of Colliers Engineering and Design, during his report to the council at its April 1 meeting.
Grass Planting To Give Marshland New Life
BERKELEY – An expanse of marsh bordering the Barnegat Bay at Good Luck Point has been in decline, but local ecologists are hoping to turn that trend around. “These marshes are in the worst condition,” said Joseph Smith, a wildlife biologist with U.S. Fish and Wildlife. He works out of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge and on one recent week his job site was the land near the old abandoned AT&T building. He and a crew were planting spartina, a grass the thrives in marshes and is cultivated to curb erosion.

UPPER FREEHOLD - Residents of Allentown watched as Matt Tomaso, an archaeologist, highlighted possible British encampments on the west of the borough. Tomaso, who was hired as a historical consultant by the developer Active Acquisitions LLC of a proposed 453,720-square-foot warehouse, displayed a 1778 Revolutionary War map, part of the campaign that led to the Battle of Monmouth on June 28, 1778.
