TOMS RIVER – Silverton EMS will no longer be sent on calls after a resident dials 911. This administrative change was made on July 22. “We’ve been advised by legal counsel that financial irregularities associated with Silverton EMS are potentially criminal, and the matter is being referred to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office,” Mayor Daniel Rodrick said. “Given what we have learned, I had no choice but to take swift action. We have hired 17 more EMTs and put several additional ambulances on the road. Police: Driver Dies In Crash Resulting In Car Fire
STAFFORD – A 24-year-old man is dead after a two-car crash on Route 72 Saturday evening, police said. The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Route 72 near Mill Creek Road. According to police, a 26-year-old Barnegat man was driving east on the highway in a 2018 Subaru when a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by 24-year-old Kevin Scoda from Edison, collided with him.
