Woman Killed in Parkway crash after hitting tire in road
TOMS RIVER — A Lakehurst woman was killed after she hit a tire laying on the Garden State Parkway and lost control of her vehicle. New Jersey State Trooper Charles Marchan said Elaina S. Clarke, 46, hit the tire in the southbound lanes near the Toms River tolls with her Chevrolet Equinox around 5:30 a.m. The tire was in the road following a one-vehicle crash involving a Ford F-250 that was disabled in the center median.

East Veterans Highway shut down due to crash
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – East Veterans Highway was closed Wednesday morning between Butterfly Road and Bennetts Mills Road in Jackson as a result of a serious motor vehicle crash. Minor injuries were reported, and firefighters arrived on the scene to find an overturned vehicle in the middle of the road just south of Bennetts Mills Road. Traffic was diverted while crews worked to clear the scene. The incident happened on East Veterans Highway, which just 10 years ago, was one of the deadliest roads in New Jersey. Crash Brings Down Wires, Starts Fire — After a collision on Monday evening that brought down a power pole, sparked a fire, and caused traffic disruption that persisted into the middle of Tuesday, a Little Egg Harbor lady has been charged with careless driving. Denise McKinnon, 43, struck a utility pole while traveling west on Lakehurst Road near Route 37 at around 7:30 p.m., according to Jillian Messina, a media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

Wall Township Police Charge Therapist for Inappropriate contact
WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Tuesday, the Wall Township Police Department arrested and charged Stefan J. Barnes Jr., a 31-year-old Manchester resident, with criminal sexual contact and sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident reported on May 23, at Massage Heights, located at 2157 State Highway 35 in Wall Township. A 23-year-old woman attending a massage session, alleged inappropriate contact in the groin area, by Barnes, her therapist, on two separate occasions. The investigation led by Patrolman David Smithman and Detective Shane Roland resulted in Barnes’ arrest without incident, and subsequent transportation to Monmouth County Correctional Institution. The entire eastern part of the Garden State is currently experience a haze due to the number of acreage that continues to burn up in Jackson.
