Mike Cavallo says a shark researcher from Massachusetts confirmed that it was in fact a juvenile great white shark, estimating it to be eight to nine feet long.

A young driver was arrested for alleged DUI after crashing into a parked vehicle and trash cans in Lakewood. The crash happened on Pine Street near Cedar Street around 1:00 AM. The driver, a young girl, was given a sobriety test and then taken into custody.

TOMS RIVER — A Lakehurst woman was killed after she hit a tire laying on the Garden State Parkway and lost control of her vehicle. New Jersey State Trooper Charles Marchan said Elaina S. Clarke, 46, hit the tire in the southbound lanes near the Toms River tolls with her Chevrolet Equinox around 5:30 a.m. The tire was in the road following a one-vehicle crash involving a Ford F-250 that was disabled in the center median.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH — The smoke-filled air caused by Canadian wildfires has claimed a major shore event. The Offshore Powerboat Association pulled the plug on the Point Pleasant Beach Grand Prix less than a day before the start of the three-day event because of "the developing situation with smoke, visibility, travel delays and air quality alerts.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – East Veterans Highway was closed Wednesday morning between Butterfly Road and Bennetts Mills Road in Jackson as a result of a serious motor vehicle crash. Minor injuries were reported, and firefighters arrived on the scene to find an overturned vehicle in the middle of the road just south of Bennetts Mills Road. Traffic was diverted while crews worked to clear the scene. The incident happened on East Veterans Highway, which just 10 years ago, was one of the deadliest roads in New Jersey. WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Tuesday, the Wall Township Police Department arrested and charged Stefan J. Barnes Jr., a 31-year-old Manchester resident, with criminal sexual contact and sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident reported on May 23, at Massage Heights, located at 2157 State Highway 35 in Wall Township. A 23-year-old woman attending a massage session, alleged inappropriate contact in the groin area, by Barnes, her therapist, on two separate occasions. The investigation led by Patrolman David Smithman and Detective Shane Roland resulted in Barnes’ arrest without incident, and subsequent transportation to Monmouth County Correctional Institution. There has only been one thing on everybody's mind up and down the New Jersey coastline this week, and that's wildfire. First, the South Jersey region experienced a wildfire in Bass River. Now, portions of forest within Jackson Township, Ocean County, are burning. Where there's fire, there's smoke. The entire eastern part of the Garden State is currently experience a haze due to the number of acreage that continues to burn up in Jackson.
