Angel Reese Asked Fans for New Chicago-Themed Nickname, and They Delivered

Angel Reese is a swiftly rising star in the basketball world, and she’s seeking a change as she prepares to tip off her professional career with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.

Known as Bayou Barbie while she was excelling in college as a member of the LSU Tigers, Reese asked fans on social media Wednesday to come up with a clever new nickname for her that relates to the Windy City.

They delivered in style. Here are some of the best suggestions.

The Sky revealed earlier Wednesday that Reese will wear uniform No. 5 , a departure from the familiar No. 10 she wore in college at LSU and Maryland.

The Sky will open the 2024 WNBA preseason May 4 at the Minnesota Lynx and the regular season May 15 at the Dallas Wings.

Chicago’s home opener is scheduled for May 25 against the Connecticut Sun. Each of those three games is slated for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off.
