Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is going viral yet again during this NBA Playoffs, but this time, it's not about his performance on the court. Instead, it's his choice of name for his newborn that's catching attention.

Gilgeous-Alexander took to social media Wednesday and announced that he and his wife Hailey, have given birth to a boy.

His son is named “Ares”, which stems from the son of Zeus, God of the Thunder, in Greek Mythology.

It's a fitting name for the newborn, especially since Gilgeous-Alexander has played for the Thunder for each of the past five seasons, and is under contract until the 2027 NBA season.

It’s been a memorable season for Gilgeous-Alexander, who has gotten some MVP consideration while leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to their best record (57-25) since 2014, since 2014 (59-23).

He’s also helped propel his team to a first-round sweep over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The name he chose for his son is distinctive, but then again, so is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's own name.

The birth of his son is a remarkable feat for the young superstar, which has led to all sorts of replies and comments from NBA fans across social media.

"He already workin on that left pivot," another fan added.

Gilgeous-Alexander will now juggle fatherhood with his role as an NBA superstar, as he and the Thunder prepare to face either the Los Angeles Clippers or the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semi-Finals next round.
