(Okoboji, IA) – The Southwest Iowa Fishing Teams competed against 65 other teams in the 2024 Strike King High School and Junior Bass Fishing Iowa State Championships on Saturday while braving through the unfavorable weather conditions. Out of those 65 teams, there were 45 high school teams and 20 junior division teams.

(Harlan, IA) – On Monday night, the Harlan boy’s soccer team kept things close at the start against Council Bluffs Lincoln but ended up falling in a 6-0 loss. This Harlan team is a perfect mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen working together on the field and are still looking to gel better together. Sometimes it takes the tough losses along the way to gel better together as a team. Atlantic Girl’s 3rd at Sioux City East Tournament
(Sioux City) The Atlantic girl’s golf team played well at the Sioux City East Invitational on Wednesday, finishing in third place out of 10 teams with a score of 397. Belle Berg and McKenna Sonntag had excellent performances and secured top-ten finishes. Berg finished in sixth place with a score of 91, while Sonntag finished tenth with a score of 98. Emma Rose shot a 103, Makenna Schroeder scored 105, Abby Muller scored 116, and Nevaeh Fewson scored 144.

Atlantic Boy’s Golf Falls to Kuemper Catholic in Dual Action
(Atlantic, IA) – The Atlantic Trojan Invite may have been called off due to inclement weather conditions, but the boy’s golf team trudged on. They were able to shoot their team nine-hole low with a 143 and ended up tying with Kuemper Catholic on the day, but lost the tiebreaker fifth score. Head Coach Kendra Henningsen was very proud of her boys and the resilience that they showed out on the course in this matchup, especially given both the course conditions and weather conditions on Tuesday. Earning the medalist spot was Atlantic’s Hudson McLaren who shot a 34 while Kuemper’s Maverick Schwabe earned the runner-up spot with a 34. You can find all the results below.
Final Results After Treynor Earns Conference Championship at Boys WIC Golf Tournament
(Atlantic, IA) – At the Nishna Hills Golf Club on Wednesday, the Treynor Cardinals were able to take the conference championship while competing at the 2024 Western Iowa Conference Golf Tournament. While Treynor was able to take a win, Missouri Valley featured both the medalist and the runner-up after Jackson Tennis was the medalist with a 68 and Evan White shot 71 for the runner-up spot. Treynor featured the next five golfers with Ethan Konz in third (72), Brock Poland in fourth (72), Jace Tams in fifth (74), Aaron Ehmke in sixth (75), and Bradley Stock in sixth (76). Audubon featured the next two top golfers with both Edward Miller and Oliver Deist shooting a 77 and Underwood’s Danny Stein ended up in tenth also with a 77.
Exira-EHK Aiming for Low Scores to Close Out the Regular Season Before Sectionals
(Elk Horn, IA) – The scores continue to go down for the Exira-EHK Spartans golf team as they continue to work hard and have fun. At the 5×80 golf course last Thursday, the Spartans featured almost every varsity golfer in the mid to low 50s and shot 217 as a team. That was an impressive effort, especially given the wind on the course and the length of the course to add to it all. Woodbine Takes First, Exira-EHK Earns Third, and CAM Marks Fourth at RVC Boys Track Championship
(Woodbine, IA) – At the Rolling Valley Boy’s Track and Field Championships on Monday evening, the Woodbine Tigers were able to capture a first-place finish with 184 team points while Coon Rapids-Bayard finished in second with 77 points, Exira-EHK earned third with 72 points, and CAM was able to capture 69 points in fourth. Both Exira-EHK and CAM featured some top runners on the evening to be able to make their mark in the meet.
Riverside Sweeps Past Underwood in Boys and Girls Golf Action
(Neola, IA) – At the Quail Run Golf Course in Neola, the Riverside boy’s and girl’s golf teams were able to come up victorious over Underwood as the boys won 179-184 and the girls came up victorious by one, 219-220. The boys featured Underwood medalist Danny Stein who shot 39 while Taven Moore for Riverside was the runner-up with 41.
