Red Oak man booked on multiple charges
(Red Oak) -- A Red Oak man faces multiple charges following his arrest over the weekend. The Red Oak Police Department says 18-year-old Logan Patrick Hastings was arrested shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday for interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor, 1st degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. Authorities say the arrest occurred in the 100 block of A Street in Red Oak.

Pottawattamie Conservation has opened four new trails at Hitchcock Nature Center, expanding the trail system to 13 miles and connecting visitors to an additional 400 acres of public land.
Montgomery County Jail Arrest Reports
(Montgomery County) On Saturday at 4:28pm the Red Oak Police Department arrested Michael Todd Archer, on US highway 34 and G Avenue after a traffic stop was conducted. Archer was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked and Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd Offense. The defendant was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $5,000 bond.
Nebraska Man Hurt in Cass County Crash
(Atlantic) On Sunday, rescue crews responded to a rollover accident at the Olive Street on-ramp on Interstate 80 north of Atlantic. The SUV driver was taken to Cass County Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to a trauma center. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The Iowa State Patrol is covering the accident. The other assisting agencies included; the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Atlantic Fire and Rescue, Cass EMS, and Life Flight 1.
Red Oak Police Arrest Report
(Red Oak) Red Oak Police arrested 18-year-old Logan Patrick Hastings of Red Oak in the 100 block of A Street on several charges. Police charged Hastings with Interference with Official Acts, 1st-degree harassment, and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Officers transported Hasting to the Montgomery County Jail and held him on a $2,000 bond. Police also arrested a juvenile for 1st–degree harassment and transported them to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Underwood man arrested on pair of charges in Red Oak
(Red Oak) -- An Underwood man faces a pair of charges in Red Oak following his arrest Monday morning. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Jose Palomares-Garcia was arrested shortly before 6:45 a.m. for interference of official acts after he attempted to go back on a property that he was reported trespassing on before attempting to flee on foot. Additionally, authorities say it was reported that a garage in the area had been broken into by breaking a window. The Sheriff's Office says Palomares-Garcia was charged with 4th degree criminal mischief after admitting to the break-in. Authorities say the arrest occurred in the 1900 block of K Avenue.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two people from Lewis following a traffic stop early Saturday morning. The traffic stop was conducted on Highway 34 and 4th Street in Red Oak at 1:55 a.m. on Saturday. Deputies then arrested the driver 42-year-old Christopher Rae Holz of Lewis for Violation of a No Contact Order and three Cass County Warrants for Controlled Substance Violation, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense, and OWI 1st Offense. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $20,000 bond.
Silvius updates Red Oak council on potential housing projects
(Red Oak) -- Red Oak city officials continue to explore ways to increase the housing stock in the community. That's the message from Red Oak Mayor Shawnna Silvius, who informed the Red Oak City Council at a special meeting recently of a few different housing projects that are currently on the city's radar. The city's financial advisors have recently stated that it could finance such projects as their general obligation debt is expected to decrease dramatically in the coming years. On top of the StudioOne Townhome project introduced late last month, Silvius says local entities are also considering renovating the old Webster building.
