Woodbine Takes First, Exira-EHK Earns Third, and CAM Marks Fourth at RVC Boys Track Championship

(Woodbine, IA) – At the Rolling Valley Boy’s Track and Field Championships on Monday evening, the Woodbine Tigers were able to capture a first-place finish with 184 team points while Coon Rapids-Bayard finished in second with 77 points, Exira-EHK earned third with 72 points, and CAM was able to capture 69 points in fourth. Both Exira-EHK and CAM featured some top runners on the evening to be able to make their mark in the meet.

Starting with Exira-EHK, the Spartans featured Cash Emgarten in first in the 100-meter dash at 11.38 and Emgarten also made his mark in the 200-meter dash in first at 23.09. In the 200-meter dash, Bryce Brabham also made his mark with an eighth-place finish at 25.70. In the 400-meter dash, Levi Jessen ran 1:05.71 for a seventh-place finish while also making his mark in the 800-meter run with a sixth-place finish at 2:53.02 and teammate Eric Wilson finished fifth at 2:28.87. In the 1600-meter run, Austin Rasmussen finished fifth at 5:14.62 and he also earned fourth in the 3200-meter run at 10:59.32. Jonas LaCanne earned a top-three finish at third in the 400-meter hurdles at 58.63.

Moving to the relay events for Exira-EHK, the Spartans were able to earn second in the 4×200-meter relay at 1:37.30, third in the 4×800-meter relay at 10:29.56, fourth in the 4×100-meter relay at 49.12, and fourth in the 1600-meter medley relay at 4:17.31.

In the field events, Cash Emgarten earned fourth in the high jump at 5’10”, Jathan Devereaux-Carlile throw 101’8″ in the discus for fifth, Phil Reinhart was able to earn a sixth-place finish at 16’11”, and Anthony Young threw 31’4″ in the shot put.

For the CAM Cougars, Jack Follman earned first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.11 while also finishing first in the 400-meter hurdles at 55.25. The other top finishers for CAM included Chase Spieker finishing in third in the 100-meter dash at 12.23 while Kegan Croghan finished fifth at 12.26. In the 400-meter dash, Carson McKee finished in fourth at 56.09.

In the relay events, CAM finished second in the 4×100-meter relay at 46.10, second in the 800-meter medley relay at 1:39.84, just .7 seconds slower than first-place Woodbine. Moving down to the field events, CAM’s Kayden Winther earned third in the long jump with an 18’8″ jump.
