Most recently, she was part of the team that provided the makeup effects for the SHS production of “Night of the Living Dead,” and passes her passion for the arts on by teaching youth painting, crafting, and improv classes. YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Last Thursday was the first annual “Captain Kenneth Sgroi Act of Kindness Day” in Yorktown. Honoring the memory of the Yorktown Police Department’s late Captain Kenneth Sgroi, the community came together and collected donations for United for the Troops and Hope’s Door. United for the Troops sends care packages to active members of the military overseas, and Hope’s Door helps victims of domestic violence. YORKTOWN, N.Y. - The Yorktown Police Department has reported the arrest of a 17-year-old male Yorktown resident who was charged with juvenile delinquency after allegedly obtaining firearm parts. Wrong way driver arrested after crash in Westchester County
On March 23, 2023, at about 10:45 p.m., Troopers responded to the New York State Thruway southbound in Greenburgh, Westchester County, for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver. The investigation determined that Juan Sinchim, 38, of Port Chester, NY, was driving northbound on I-87 in the southbound passing lane when he collided with another vehicle. Sinchim was taken into custody and transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was also transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
