Crews Fight House Fire in Owego
Crews were called to the scene of a house fire in Owego just after noon Wednesday. The call came in for a report of a structure fire in the 140 block of Ballou Road. One adult and two children were able to get out, along with three cats. The family's other two cats haven't been located yet.

Binghamton Man Accused of Cashing Forged Checks
A forged check cashing spree across Broome County leads to over a dozen felony charges for a Binghamton man. According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, members had been investigating a series of reported forged checks, beginning in March 2024. A total of eight forged personal checks totaling $5,218.70 had been cashed at three separate M&T Banks and three separate Visions Federal Credit Union locations. The checks appeared to be personal checks from county residents, but none of them reported writing a check to the suspect or meeting him.

A Binghamton man is found guilty on a weapons charge. According to the Broome County District Attorney, Rondell Wright was found guilty of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. Endicott Woman Pleads Guilty After 2023 Armed Robbery
An Endicott woman who was involved in an armed robbery in March 2023 has pleaded guilty. According to the law office of Jackson Bergman LLP, Kristin Silvanic pleaded guilty Monday to the charge of Attempted Burglary in the 2nd degree. She had initially been charged with Robbery in the 1st and Criminal Solicitation in the 2nd.
