There's just about nothing worse than what happened in a New York high school baseball championship game. Hornell was taking on Palmyra-Macedon in the Section V Class B1 championship game on Saturday and looked to have won the game, as they began celebrating what they thought was the game-ending strikeout. The problem? Hornell's catcher never tagged the batter on the dropped third strike, and the Pal-Mac runners kept running around the bases to give their team the win.
Troopers: Hornell Resident Throws Rock At A Car
FROM STATE POLICE: On Sunday, May 21, 2023, troopers from SP Wayland received a report of criminal mischief that occurred on Big Creek Rd in the town of Fremont. The suspect allegedly threw a rock at the victim’s vehicle windshield, causing a large crack. The suspect was identified as Carli R. Corcoran, age 27, of Hornell, NY. Corcoran responded to SP North Hornell and was subsequently arrested for Criminal Mischief 3rd (E Felony). Corcoran was processed at SP North Hornell, then released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Fremont Town Court on June 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

Wayland Man Facing Drug Charges From Hornell Police
From Hornell Police: A six-month investigation into illicit drug sales in the City of Hornell resulted in the arrest of Brian T. Hess, age 40, of 10 S. Main St. Wayland NY. Mr. Hess was arrested via Steuben County Superior Court Warrant at approximately 9:45am Saturday morning and was charged with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (B Felony) and 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (B Felony). Hess was transferred to Steuben County Central Arraignment Part Court to answer the charges. The investigation was led by Sgt. Tom Aini of the Hornell Police Department with assistance from the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

Troopers investigate a road rage incident which lead to the arrest of a Campbell resident.
On Friday, May 19, 2023, SP Painted Post troopers responded to the Meads Creek Rd and Victory Highway area in the town of Campbell for a road rage incident. The victims advised troopers that the suspects had stopped in traffic, exited their vehicle, and engaged in an altercation while the victims remained in their vehicle. After further investigation, troopers subsequently located and identified the suspect as Andrew D. Morrison, age 39, of Campbell, NY. 2023 Hornell Memorial Day Parade Plans
HORNELL, NY – The Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29. All of those, who are going to be in the parade, should be at the East Main Street bridge area by 9 a.m. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will immediately follow the parade at the Veterans’ Monument on Broadway Mall. Participating fire departments will line up on Bank Street, facing Main Street. All others will be assembled on the street and parking lot at the end of Main and Riverside Place.
