‘Everybody Talks’ about Spring Fling
Despite the rain during the Spring Fling festival and concert, students gathered to enjoy classic fair food and rides traditionally marking the end of the academic year. Fun began on the Peace Quad as students gathered together for rides, food and games during this year’s Spring Fling. The festival portion ran from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by a concert, beginning at 6 p.m., that featured headliner Neon Trees and openers Husband Material and Laundry Day.

Two Charged After Drugs Found in Binghamton Apartment
The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force says two people are arrested and facing charges after narcotics are found in a Binghamton apartment. According to the Task Force, a warrant was executed at a 15 Corbett Avenue apartment on the second floor on Tuesday, April 23rd. Approximately 1.8 ounces of meth, 27.3 grams of crack cocaine, and 1.89 grams of fentanyl, a methodone pill and items for weighing and packaging narcotics were all found in the apartment.

Binghamton Softball Sweeps Opening Double-Header Against Bryant
The Bearcats would pick up the sweep of the double-header against Bryant on Saturday to get two wins in the three game set against the Bulldogs. Binghamton would trail early going down 2-0 before Alex Musial would blast a two run homer to tie it up at two runs aside. The Bearcats would grab their first lead of the contest in the very same inning when Brianna Santos would get an RBI double to go up 3-2. Binghamton would go on to add two more runs in that inning courtesy of Ally L'Amoreaux and Shelby Carvalho. L'Amoreaux and Sarah Rende would cap it off in the bottom of the sixth inning with back to back home runs to take game one.
DOT Warns of Work on I-81 Southbound Beginning April 29th
A construction project on Interstate 81 will impact motorists beginning on Monday, April 29th. According to the NYSDOT, the project will occur at the junction of I-81 southbound and State Route 17 eastbound. It will force a lane closure in both directions between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. nightly on Monday. This work is expected to last at least seven days.
