The Minnesota Timberwolves have looked dominant in their first round series against the Phoenix Suns. While they're not blowing Phoenix out of the water, they look poised for an NBA playoff run, potentially even a Finals run in 2024.

ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith believes the Timberwolves have a tremendous shot at making it out the West, but one team stands in their way. If Minnesota defeats the Suns and advances to the second round, they will either face the Los Angeles Lakers or Denver Nuggets.

Smith is confident in the Timberwolves' postseason ability, but he thinks the Nuggets could give Minnesota some trouble.

The Nuggets are an experienced team, defending their NBA title from 2023. If a series between Denver and Minnesota played out, it would be an absolute dog fight. An up-and-coming star in Anthony Edwards against two-time MVP, Nikola Jokic. The Timberwolves have the talent to beat anyone in the league, but the Nuggets' experience and depth may halt them in their path.
