WATCH: Wild crash caught on camera in Brooklyn Center
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — A driver reportedly suffered only minor injuries after a wild crash in Brooklyn Center that was caught on camera Monday morning. State Patrol spokesperson Lt. Jill Frankfurth says the incident happened at the intersection of Highway 52 and 70th Ave. N. when the driver of a Mazda SUV made a left turn and made contact with a Jeep, then was rear-ended by a Toyota Camry.
Man found dead in vacant Minneapolis building ID'd; death ruled a homicide
MINNEAPOLIS — A man found dead of a gunshot wound in a vacant building in Minneapolis earlier this year has been identified.The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said 46-year-old Aidarus Sharif-Mohamed Ali died of a gunshot wound to the head on Feb. 16. His manner of death was homicide, the examiner said.Officers went to the 1500 block of Park Avenue the night of Feb. 16 after reports of a dead body. They found Ali with a fatal gunshot wound.Police said Tuesday there have been no corresponding arrests, but the investigation is open and active.
One killed in head-on collision with pickup truck in Coon Rapids
COON RAPIDS, Minn. — One person is dead and two are injured following a crash in a northern Twin Cities suburb Tuesday evening.Multiple agencies responded to a crash near Main Street Northwest and Wedgewood Drive Northwest in Coon Rapids around 5:42 p.m., according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.Police say a man in a hatchback was driving eastbound on Main Street Northwest when the vehicle entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck.MORE NEWS: House Republicans urge passage of $120 million in emergency aid for ambulance services in MinnesotaResponders attempted life-saving measures on the driver of the hatchback, but he died at the scene, the sheriff's office reports. Fire closes Minneapolis restaurant
MINNEAPOLIS — A restaurant in the St. Anthony neighborhood of Minneapolis is closed following a fire Sunday afternoon. Minneapolis Fire Department officials say crews were dispatched to Masu Sushi & Robata at 330 E. Hennepin Ave. just after 3 p.m. and upon arrival found smoke pouring from the roof. Firefighters investigated and found flames inside the kitchen hoods extending up to the roof.
Minneapolis shooting leaves man critically injured, 2 others hurt
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A shooting Sunday night in Minneapolis left a man with life-threatening injuries and two others injured. The Minneapolis Police Department said the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on the 1800 block of Lowry Avenue North. Multiple people called 911 reporting hearing shots, and police said ShotSpotter indicated multiple rounds were fired.
