Peoria woman's 'entrepreneurial hamster' keeps three Grand Prairie stores running
Patrons at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie in Peoria may not be aware of the juggling act Brittany Yates pulls off daily while keeping three Grand Prairie storefronts in the air. “She’s very talented at her job, and she’s also very motivated,” said Julie Underhill, a nail technician at The NailSpace Event Spa, one of Yates’ three stores located at the North Peoria shopping center.

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — CEFCU is warning its customers about a new scam that’s affecting people across the United States. According to CEFCU, the scam is called “pig-butchering,” due to scammers trying to fatten up their victims with friendship and empty promises before cutting them off and taking their victim’s money.
War Memorial lane closures for Peoria graduations
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Drivers should expect lane closures on War Memorial Drive this Saturday for upcoming graduation ceremonies. According to a Peoria Public Works news release, the lane closure will affect the Right lane of westbound East War Memorial Drive close to Peoria Stadium from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Traffic will only be able to turn in and out from the westbound left lane.

Scattered showers and storms return, keeping an eye on next week too
PEORIA (25News Now) - After a welcomed dry day today, we’ll see chances for scattered showers and storms return to our forecast tomorrow. Rain may begin as early as the middle to late morning and will continue through the late afternoon and early evening. It won’t rain for the whole day and we will still see a fair amount of dry time tomorrow. A few additional showers and storms may be possible Friday afternoon and evening, but those will be isolated in nature. Rainfall totals could reach upward of a couple tenths of an inch, so we are not expecting as much rain as earlier this week.
