Police look to identify driver involved in fatal hit-skip crash on Cleveland’s West Side
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities are seeking to identify the driver of a pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-skip crash on Tuesday. A 45-year-old man was struck at 10:30 p.m. by a white, two-door pickup truck as he crossed the street at Scranton Road and Kinkel Avenue. The driver of the pickup drove away after the incident, said Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz, a spokesman for Cleveland police.
Cleveland man arrested after leading multiple police departments on lengthy pursuit
A 26-year-old Cleveland man was arrested April 17 after taking area law enforcement agencies on a lengthy pursuit through Avon and Westlake. The man was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, compliance with lawful order of police officer-fleeing, driving under suspension, obedience to traffic control devices and driving on left side of road, all first-degree misdemeanors, according to an Avon Police Department report.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot Tuesday in Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood, according to police. The office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner identified the youth as Javier Smith Santiago. He was shot about 5:20 p.m. near a residence on Riverside Avenue, near West 39th Street.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Arshawn Thomas, who was wanted by Cleveland police on murder charges. A Concord Township man accused of killing his girlfriend before attempting to commit suicide has been arraigned on a charge of aggravated murder. According to court documents, Brian K. Doerner entered a plea of not guilty to the first-degree felony charge April 15 in the Painesville Municipal Court. No bond was set and the 53-year-old remained in the Lake County Jail.
