The Wildcats kept their perfect season going in girls lacrosse with a 16-4 shellacking of the winless Becker Bulldogs on Thursday, April 25. Camryn Hinsch, Kamryn Peterson and Alyson Vogelsang led the way on offense for the ‘Cats as the trio combined for 10 goals, with Hinsch netting four of them. Vogelsang and Peterson both had three tallies in the game, and Vogelsang had an assist along with her three.
Rogers softball beats Centennial 11-5
The Rogers softball team scored nearly a dozen runs as the Royals (10-1, 5-1) defeated Centennial (5-5, 4-3) 11-5 on April 25, at Lexington Memorial Park in Lexington. Sydney Bailey, Brianna Ness and Lexie Young each had three RBIs. Bailey was 2-for-4 with a home run, Ness was 1-for-4 with a single and Young was 2-for-4 with a single and a home run. On the mound, AnnaBelle Waldoch threw a complete game, allowing three hits, three earned runs and four walks while striking out six. The Royals host St. Cloud (6-3, 6-2) on Friday, May 3, at 4:30 p.m. at the Rogers High School softball field.
Boys lacrosse team sits at an even 2-2
Chisago Lakes split two games last week, but luckily the loss came out of conference, so the Wildcats’ perfect record still stands in the Mississippi 8 Conference. The ‘Cats couldn’t get enough offense going to match the Pioneers scoring prowess in their match up on Tuesday, April 23. Hill scored four goals in the first quarter and the second quarter and five more in the third quarter while CL only mustered 1-2-2, leaving them in a 13-5 deficit. Hill played a keepaway game in the fourth quarter and Chisago Lakes didn’t have enough possession time to threaten a comeback.
