A brazen daylight robbery at a Brooklyn Park shopping district has come to a swift resolution thanks in part to coordinated police work and modern surveillance. Law enforcement officials reported to, Tip411, that on the afternoon of July 24, at approximately 5:39 pm, officers from the Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to a robbery at the Dollar Tree store located at 8030 Brooklyn Boulevard.
Months after Jayden Kline's body was left on her Fridley driveway, 18-year-old man now charged with murder
MINNEAPOLIS — A man is charged with first-degree murder in last year's shooting death of 18-year-old Fridley resident Jayden Lee Kline.The Anoka County Attorney's Office says the suspect, who is 18, was 17 at the time of the shooting on Dec. 21, 2023. He was originally charged as a juvenile before the attorney's office switched him to adult status. He made his first court appearance on Wednesday.Police say Kline was found shot outside her home off Third Street Northeast and 45th Avenue Northeast, just west of University Avenue. Neighbor Lisa Garcia told WCCO that evening she ran out to give Kline CPR."She seemed like a sweet girl to me. For this to happen was horrible, horrible beyond words," Garcia said. "To be dropped off at their driveway like that, I mean, not dropped off, dumped in the driveway like that, it just feels so personal."Kline had just graduated from Columbia Heights High School where she was a member of the swim team. The suspect was arrested hours after the shooting. It is not clear how he and Kline were connected. MINNEAPOLIS — Highs reach the upper 80s on Friday in the Twin Cities and approach 90 again this weekend, with heat index values closer to 100.High pressure is still in control, which means more sunshine is on the way. Hazy skies will persist with more upper-level wildfire smoke. The only difference is the ridge is a little farther to our east which means southerly winds By Sunday night, a cold front will approach the metro bringing back spotty storms later in the day. Some storms are possible across northern Minnesota on Saturday.The threat for severe weather remains low, with a slight risk on Saturday and a marginal risk on Sunday.Some storms may linger into Monday, otherwise the dry/hot pattern looks to continue next week.
Jacob Bridgeman shoots an 8-under 63 at the TPC Twin Cities to take the 3M Open lead
Jacob Bridgeman birdied five of his last seven holes for an 8-under 63 and a one-stroke lead over Mackenzie Hughes on Thursday after the first round of the 3M Open. Patrick Rodgers, Martin Trainer and Andrew Novak were two shots back at the TPC Twin Cities. Billy Horschel, coming off a second-place tie Sunday in the British Open after holding the 54-hole lead, withdrew about an hour before his tee time due to illness. Bridgeman had his lowest score in 23 career events on the PGA Tour. He holed out from a bunker for birdie on the par-3 17th and two-putted the par-5 18th for another birdie. The 24-year-old former Clemson player missed the cut in his last three events.

It is another weekend of back to back to back chances for storms of which some could be on the strong to severe side. Like past weekends there will be a lot of dry hours and some locations won’t see showers or storms. Most chances will come through the evenings and overnight with an exception for Sunday which may start earlier in the afternoon and move into Sunday night.
