Knicks star Jalen Brunson to appear on 'Law & Order: SVU'

Scarsdale resident and New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson makes his scripted acting debut as Detective Jay Madison in NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" at 9 p.m. Nov. 5. Brunson, whose friendship with actress Mariska Hargitay became a high-profile fandom during The Knicks playoffs and eventual "Knicks in five" win in June, was bound to be on his friend's long-running show. The episode, titled "Forsaken," fulfills a "bucket list" item for Hargitay who told NBC's Savannah Guthrie in May that the athlete was someone she wanted to make a cameo appearance on the show. Celebrities: Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar Brunson, who's been all over the news (and in coffee shops throughout Westchester; see him here at Laughing Horse in Harrison), hosted NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in late September. As for his SVU appearance, there's a teaser showing his character interacting with Hargitay, aka Olivia Benson, at a diner, but no more details. "Law & Order: SVU" has been seen filming all over Westchester recently including at the Pleasantville Diner in Pleasantville and Addyman Square in Ardsley where Peter Scanavino aka ADA Dominick Carisi, Jr./"Sonny" stopped for a slice at Baci in the Square. Craft beer meets fine art in Carmel as taproom opens in gallery

It's not everyday you find freshly brewed beer in an art gallery, but that's exactly what you'll find at Silver Horns Brewing Company in Carmel. The venture, which opened Oct. 17, combines the passions of Kelly and Mark Edwards — she's the owner of Arbor Gallery where Silver Horns in located; he's a longtime homebrewer who formerly worked in animation. Together, their nano brewery features five beers: a kolsch, cream ale, New England IPA, IPA and a stout. To come: lagers, saisons, sours and more stouts. Snacks (e.g. nuts, pickles and olives) are also part of their offerings with the hopes of attracting a local food truck to their parking lot (they're located at Promenade on 6, which features a variety of businesses). Already, Maybe Coffee is there with coffee drinks, pancakes, pastries and acai bowls. Customers are also allowed to bring in their own food. Dining: Westchester restaurateurs expand, elevate their cozy eatery to Putnam Keeping to their local theme, they also have seltzers from Upstate Stock and plan to offer wine. From the beginning Kelly said the gallery's goal was to be as community-minded as possible. That is why, although she's been in the Promenade for three years,
