Mississippi State quarterback Mike Wright has entered the NCAA transfer portal for the second time in his college career. Pete Nakos of On3 Sports first reported the news.

Wright posted on social about his plans to enter the portal on April 22 and officially entered the portal on Wednesday.

He began his career at Vanderbilt, seeing action in 26 career games for the Commodores. Wright completed 55.3% of his passes for 2,067 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 894 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns.

After the 2022 season, Wright transferred to Mississippi State. He started three games for the Bulldogs after Will Rogers suffered an injury early into the 2023 season.

In his limited action for the Bulldogs, Wright recorded 453 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 324 rushing yards, and three rushing touchdowns.

Wright signed with Vanderbilt as a three-star prospect out of Atlanta, Georgia. He ranked as the No. 39 quarterback and No. 66 player in Georgia, according to the On3 industry rankings .

Mississippi State fired head coach Zach Arnett last season and will be led by former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby in 2024.
