Cedar Rapids Community School District to sell Arthur and Garfield Elementary
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - On Monday, the Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) announced its intentions to sell Arthur and Garfield Elementary schools. Garfiled and Arther are some of the oldest buildings in operation in the district, having been built in 1914. Officials say the decision will not only honor the building’s historical significance but also allow the district to reduce operational costs.

90s rock star, Sam Young, to help teach music courses at the University of Iowa
Iowa City — A popular 90s rock star is coming to the University of Iowa (UI) to help educate Hawkeye students about music theory and composition. Musician, Sam Young, spent much of the 90s touring across the nation with The Samples. During that time, they sold a million albums. Young also preformed as a drummer for DeVotchKa, a multi-instrumental and vocal group. That group has 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
