(Waterloo, IA) -- An investigation is underway after Waterloo Police responded to reports of shots fired early Monday morning. Police say officers were sent to a neighborhood in the area of Sunnyside Avenue and Wellington Street around 1am. Officers found shell casings at the scene, but no injuries or damaged property have been reported.

Cedar Falls man arrested after month-long chase of evading law enforcement
Cedar Falls, Iowa — In a series of events spanning over a month, a Cedar Falls man who managed to elude law enforcement in multiple encounters is arrested. The first incident occurred on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, around 10:24 p.m., when officers spotted a black Jeep Cherokee traveling south on Logan Ave. without visible taillights. When police tried to pull over Brandon James Boyer, they found that his driver's license was barred. The officers tried to arrest him, but Boyer drove off. A high-speed chase started in the direction of downtown Waterloo, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. The car was eventually disabled and Boyer ran away, with a warrant issued for his arrest for eluding police.
