O'FALLON, Ill. — An O'Fallon, Illinois, restaurant permanently closed Tuesday after its owner said in a social media post that it could not continue operating financially. In a post on O'Town Food Hall and Tap House's Facebook page Tuesday, owner Stephen Edwards said the restaurant has struggled with sales and staffing since the COVID-19 pandemic and could not remain open, saying, "... our often-extreme efforts have only realized minimal gains, if any."
WB I-55/64 closing in East St. Louis this weekend
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (First Alert 4) - The westbound lanes of Interstate 55/64 from the interchange to the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed this weekend. The closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday and last until 5 a.m. Monday. During the closure, all westbound lanes and ramps to and from westbound I-55/64 within the project limits will be closed. The westbound lanes of the Martin Luther King Bridge will also be closed.

Woman shot, critically injured Wednesday morning in Dutchtown neighborhood
ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating after a woman was found shot Wednesday morning in the city's Dutchtown neighborhood. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 4600 block of South Spring Avenue for a report of a shooting. Alton crews respond to fire at home of mayor
Alton firefighters were called to the home of Alton Mayor David Goins on Monday after the mayor stopped by his home and discovered smoke. Authorities got the 9-1-1 call from Goins around 11:45am for the home he shares with his wife in the 2700 block of Judson.
