Storms cause damage Thursday
A line of strong storms and possibly tornadoes hit southwestern Illinois Thursday evening. There have been no reports of injuries, but several buildings were hit, and the National Weather Service will be out today looking at the damage. The Prairietown area was hit in Madison County, along with an area near White Hall over to Palmyra in Greene and Macoupin Counties. Investigators will determine if the damage was caused by tornadoes.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis City jury found a St. Louis man guilty Thursday of the 2021 shooting death of a man in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood. A jury found 21-year-old Ledra Craig guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of 53-year-old Donald Yorker in February 2021. Craig waved jury sentence because first-degree murder carries a sentence of life without parole, prosecutors said.

Man sentenced to 12.5 years for firearm possession after 2023 shooting
U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark on Thursday sentenced a man arrested after a 2023 shooting to 12.5 years in prison. Robert Eutz III, 44, pleaded guilty in January to one felony count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He admitted that officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department stopped his car shortly after a March 30, 2023, shooting on the 3500 block of Lafayette Avenue. Officers found 10mm ammunition and spent casings in the car, along with a 10mm Glock handgun, 23.67 grams of raw fentanyl, and 111 capsules containing fentanyl in a safe in the vehicle, according to Eutz’s plea agreement.
