Charges filed in fatal South Roxana hit and run
The driver in a fatal hit and run crash in South Roxana has been charged in Madison County Court. 34-year-old Jasmine D. Andrews of Belleville is charged with Accident Involving Death and Fail To Report Accident in the death of 28-year-old Charles Taylor of Maryville on June 1 of this year.
Weekly Safety Report: Fatal Crash and Vehicle Fire in Alton, Illinois
Three people died in a two-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 4 in Madison County. The accident occurred at 3:44 a.m. on September 15, 2023, just north of Old State Route 4. One of the victims was a 21-year-old male from Alton. Another incident involved a man who crashed near the flour mill in Alton and was subsequently treated at a St. Louis hospital. The crash happened around 8pm when a black Dodge Challenger caught fire. The driver was trapped but was eventually extricated and taken to a local hospital before being flown for further treatment.
East Alton man accused of killing estranged wife
EAST ALTON, Ill. (KMOV) -- A man is accused of killing his estranged wife in East Alton. Adell S. Davenport, 47, died after being stabbed in the 300 block of West Main Street Thursday morning. John S. Davenport was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder for her death.
