WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) — A young St. Clair County man is behind bars after being arrested with a gun and drugs in Washington Township Monday night.

Jessie Webber of Allenton was arraigned Tuesday on multiple charges, including carrying a concealed weapon.

Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Seven Lakes Drive in Washington Township around 7:45 p.m. Monday, April 22, after a resident reported seeing a “suspicious” man walking around the neighborhood and “loitering in a porta potty.”

The 911 caller told police the man — later identified as the 21-year-old Webber — was carrying multiple bags and “acting unusual.”

When deputies showed up they saw Webber talking to a resident. Webber “appeared unsteady on his feet” and claimed he was working for a contractor in the subdivision and was waiting for a ride.

Webber admitted to having “whip-its” in the porta potty, according to the sheriff’s office. His backpack contained a large kitchen knife and ammunition for a .40 caliber handgun, officials said.

Deputies found numerous pills “packaged in a manner common for distribution,” along with 15 credit cards with different names on them.

“I applaud the homeowners for being vigilant about suspicious behavior in their neighborhood,” Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said, per a press release. “This suspect was armed and potentially dangerous.”

Webber was charged with one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon, two felony counts of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of prohibited use of chemical agents.

Webber’s bond was set at $7,500. He remains held at the Macomb County Jail.
