24-year-old killed in snowy car crash in Grand Traverse Co.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office on Monday said that one person was killed in a car crash Sunday. On Nov. 26 at 9:44 a.m., a white BMW driven by a 24-year-old male from Illinois was traveling south on County Road 633 near Bartlett Road when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a white Ford Escape travelling north, deputies said. The Escape was driven by a 21-year-old from Traverse City, they said. The initial collision caused a northbound white Honda CRV (which was behind the Ford Escape) that was driven by a 46-year-old from Traverse City to then collide with the white Ford Escape, deputies said. The driver of the white BMW died because of the injuries caused by the crash, deputies said. Other drivers and passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment at Munson Medical Center.

LANSING — A Grand Traverse County man is looking forward to living debt-free after winning a $1 million Mega Millions prize. Kyle Becker, of Interlochen, matched the five white balls in the Oct. 27 drawing to win $1 million: 11-32-43-57-70. He bought his winning ticket at Miracle Mile E-Z Mart, located at 509 Munson Avenue in Traverse City. She told me I must have won big, and when I asked how big, she thought maybe a couple thousand dollars.
Weekly Safety Report: Methamphetamine Possession and Illegal Surveillance in Traverse City
Two incidents occurred in Traverse City, Michigan this week. In the first incident, a 34-year-old man was caught with methamphetamine during a traffic stop. He was a passenger in a car driven by a woman when Michigan State Police Troopers initiated the stop. In the second incident, the owner of Morsels, a local business, was arrested for illegal surveillance. He had hidden cameras in the women's bathroom and videos from those cameras on his phone. The owner is currently out on bond awaiting an arraignment.

Events happening in Northern Michigan for Toys for Tots
This is the busiest week of the season for Toys for Tots for Northwest Michigan, and on Monday they announced several events to encourage donations. The organization has more than 100 drop off locations throughout Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie Antrim and Kalkaska Counties and seven events happening this week. These events include Shop with a Cop and a toy bus in front of Meijer on Friday and on Saturday the organization is trying to fill a buggy and the car from Ghostbuster!
